A young man suspected of dealing heroin may struggle in future to enjoy relaxing spa sessions after he was arrested in a hot tub.

Merseyside Police, acting on a tip-off, tracked wanted 20-year-old Jack Ross to the DW Gym in Widnes on Monday.

Matrix officers arrested Mr Ross, from Whitney Road, Woolton and charged him with conspiracy to supply heroin and crack cocaine in West Mercia while he was soaking in the Jacuzzi- a cautionary tale to wanted criminals who think the hot tub is a safe place to relax.

He appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court, Worcestershire on Tuesday morning.

Mr Ross will also be recalled to prison following breach of his licence conditions following his release from prison in January after serving part of a prison sentence for aggravated vehicle taking. His licence was revoked in February.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “We have arrested a wanted man following enquiries in Widnes, Cheshire yesterday, Monday 10 April.

“At around 2pm, Matrix officers located the man in a jacuzzi in DW Gym, Cross Street, Widnes.”

The DW website states its Widnes gym has a “steam room, spa pool and impressive indoor pool.”

“Once you’ve finished your workout, you can enjoy our steam room or relax in our spa pool.

“The swimming pools are complimented by relaxing hot spa pools to soothe away the aches and stresses of the day, along with truly luxurious beautiful fibre optic lit steam rooms to complete the relaxation program - you won't want to go home!

“There’s even free WiFi throughout the gym.”
