A driver who thought it would be a good idea to swear at a mobile speed camera has been issued with a ticket, but not for speeding.

West Midlands Police's Camera Enforcement unit caught the cheeky motorist sticking both middle fingers up at a mobile speed camera.

As both his hands were off the steering wheel he has now been served a notice of intended prosecution for driving without due care and attention.

The force decided to put the driver to shame by sticking up the snap on social media, creatively disguising his face with a smiley face post-it note.

It wrote: “And this is what we are up against. Hasn't been caught speeding but he has been captured driving without due care and attention. NIP [notice of intended prosecution] in the post!

“This gent has come in to the police station today. He admitted his wrong doing and has been issued with a ticket.

“He will await a decision made by the CTO [central ticket office]. I won't tell you what he said of himself!”
